Anne Myers, RVT, VTS (Cardiology)
This is my second term as NAVTA Representative and I am happy to be re-elected. I am a 1985 VMT graduate of Central Carolina Technical College and have been working for about 25 years as a registered veterinary technician in North Carolina. I look forward to continuing to serve as a liaison between our state association and NAVTA. I live in Apex with my family and pets and currently work for the Cardiology Service at the North Carolina State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Beckie Mosser, RVT
Beckie graduated from Central Carolina Community College in 2007. She joined the NCAVT Executive Committee in March 2008 where she served 3 terms as Education Coordinator, and is now excited to serve in her new position as Vice President. She is still a newly-wed to her husband Timmy and has an ever expanding household of a German Shepherd mix "Bocephus", a Border Collie mix "Daisy", a Pit Boxer mix "Lilly", and a tuxedo kitty "Melody aka Boo Boo Kitty".
Jonathan Loftis, RVT
Jonathan worked in veterinary medicine off and on for 13 years prior to going to CCCC to learn how to do it right. He graduated from CCCC's VMT program in 2001 and went to work at the NCSU Large Animal Hospital. He spent 2 years at NCSU before making the change to education. He is now the Animal Facilities Manager and an instructor for the VMT program at CCCC. Jonathan is married (to Kelley) and they have a ton of "children" including 2 dogs, 6 cats, 1 rabbit, 3 fire bellied toads, and 5 Jack Dempsey cichlids (fish).
Gail Harrell, RVT
Gail graduated CCCC (then CCTI) in 1975 which was the first class to take the state boards. Straight out of school she went to work at Bass Animal Hospital in Wilson. The hospital was bought out and became Countryside Animal Hospital. She worked there for several years before taking time off to raise her two sons. Gail helped set up and volunteered at a local shelter & spay/neuter clinic for several years as well as volunteering with local Humane Society. She then started working part time in emergency medicine and is now back working full time in a small animal practice in Wilson, Brandywine Veterinary Hospital. When not caring for her 4 dogs and 4 cats, Gail enjoys reading, sewing, spending time with her family & serving in her church. After thirty years in the profession she is glad to see some of the advancements that have finally come about for RVT’s.
Janice Mosley, RVT
Janice is a graduate of CCTI, class of 1975. She has worked in the field for 33 years with a 5 year break while having children. She has worked in her current position for 25 years with Dr. Valenti at Cliffdale Aninal Hospital in Fayetteville, NC. Her interests are breeding and exhibiting miniature longhaired dachshunds, NASCAR and baseball. At this time 8 adult miniature longhaired dachshunds, 2 labs,4 silkie chickins, 5 cats and 2 gouldian finches reside with Janice. She is interested in color genetics in the dachshund and is attempting to educate fellow breeders concerning dominate and recessive genes in an understandable manner. She is a member of the National Miniature Dachshund Club as well as DCA. She is aware of the effort and hard work the past board members have devoted to the Association and would like to continue their efforts.

President: Amanda Dillard, RVT
Amanda started working in veterinary medicine in 1998. She worked for Southwoods Animal Hospital, a small animal practice in Greensboro while attending Central Carolina Community College. After graduating in 2001, she started working at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Greensboro. She worked in the surgery department for six years, then worked in the ICU department for 3 years. She now works in animal research as a Training Coordinator for the Wake Forest School of Medicine. She has served on the NCAVT executive committee since 2008. She is currently also a member of AALAS (American Association of Laboratory Animal Science). I am married and we have a 4 year old daughter that likes to collect pet rocks. We have a super happy, bouncey, spinning Irish Setter named Delaney and a black & white tux kitty named Oscar. I enjoy biking, walking, and just being outdoors.
President-Elect: Kirsten Cromly BS, RVT
Kirsten has been in the veterinary profession since 2002. During her academic career at Purdue University (Boiler Up!!) she was the Student Affairs Representative for the Purdue Veterinary Technician Association and The Veterinary Technician Representative for the Student Chapter of the AVMA Executive Board. While in school, she also worked at an emergency clinic, participated in the veterinary school’s treatment crew program, and conducted her externship at Animal Planet’s Alameda East Veterinary Hospital. After graduation with her Associates of Science in 2006, she became an Anesthesia Technician within the Purdue University VTH while pursuing the BS portion of her education. Upon graduation in 2008, she relocated to North Carolina, and obtained an Assistant Manager Position at NCSU's College of Veterinary Medicine. Her hobbies include performing arts, gardening, and outdoor adventure activities, as well as hanging out with her family of three cats, a Great Dane, a Cattle Dog Mix, and her loving veterinarian husband.

1998 Graduate from Pierce College in Woodland Hills California. From 1998-2005 worked in small animal private practice in California, then in 2005 moved to cary NC and started working at NCSU Veterinary Teaching hospital in the soft tissue surgery service. 2006 to present helped establish the Dentistry service with Dr. William Krug who is a board certified Veterinary Dentist. Became the NCAVT Secretary in 2009 and obtained the VTS status in Dentistry.
Personal Info: I am married and we have one son a 7 year old who likes to collect snails for pets and is a dinosaur hunter. We have two dogs, Bella an Italian greyhound and Mya who is our newest member that we adopted at the Wake Shelter in March 10’.We also have Buddy a bearded dragon and foster turtles for the NCSU Turtle rescue team.
I enjoy gardening, spending time with the family and presenting continuing education in the field of veterinary dentistry.
I am a member of NAVTA and am on the credential committee for the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians.
Treasurer: Sandra (Sandi) Portilla, RVT
Sandra is a 2000 graduate of the vet tech program at Gaston College, located in Dallas, North Carolina. She spent several years working in small animal practice before finding her home at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Greensboro. She currently works as an ICU tech at CVS. Sandra and her husband Fabian live in Burlington with her wonderful and amazing son Christian, their dog Onyx and two cats, Copperfield and Mr. Bones.
Information Officer: Beth Green, RVT
I began working in veterinary medicine when I graduated from AB Tech in 2006. On top of being an RVT, I am also a CPhT (certified Pharmacy Technician). I currently work at WNC Veterinary Hospital just outside of Asheville, NC. And am pursuing my VTS in Clinical Practices for canine/feline. I live in Hendersonville, NC with my husband, James, daughter, Adeline, six dogs and 3 cats. I am very excited to be serving on the board and hope I will fulfill all your expectations.

Education Officer: Jasmin Walthour, RVT
Jasmin Walthour is a Registered Veterinary Technician for NCSU-CVM. She graduated from Central Carolina Community College in 2010 where she earned an A.A.S. in Veterinary Medical Technologies. She works in Central Procedures Laboratory at the CVM as a Medical Support Technician, and is responsible for many aspects of a variety of research projects. Her duties range from maintaining all DEA records, the setting up and tearing down of research projects, assisting in quotes, and billing; to anesthesia, pre-op care, post-op care, and maintaining all animal records for several different species. She is married with three children and has one dog, one cat, two turtles, a tank of Oscars, and two guinea pigs that she adopted from CCCC.
Recruitment & Retention Officer: Heather Sidari, RVT
Hi I am Heather Sidari and originally from upstate NY. I am a 2006 graduate of Central Carolina Community College’s VMT program. I started in the veterinary field around 10 years ago at Quail Corners Animal Hospital in Raleigh, NC. I’ve concentrated on Emergency medicine since graduation at QCAH and am now working at the NCSU-VTH. Although I started off in the surgery department, I decided to follow my interest as an Anesthesia technician, pursuing my VTS in Anesthesia! I recently started to volunteer and enjoy being a part of Operation Catnip. At this time I have 3 boys, 2 large mutts (Burt Reynolds and the Sundance Kidd) and a wonderful 3 legged Pomeranian (Tinnnnnnny)! I look forward to speaking with future and current technicians!
